(I assume the same is for alliance), you CAN pick up the quest line once you enter the portal to Pandaria, all you have to do (Horde) is travel a bit outside of Honeydew Villiage towards the Terrace of Ten Thunders and you will get an auto-accept quest, picking up the quest line from after the ship crashes in Pandaria.
