What is a 5th Wheel capture plate?

A Capture Plate is a required component of the SuperGlide fifth wheel towing system. This plate is attached to your trailer’s skid plate. When you’re hooked up into your SuperGlide hitch and ready to tow, it isolates the rotation of your trailer’s king pin in the hitch.

Can you lock a Pullrite superglide?

It does not lock in either back or forward, and you cannot safely (even unsafely) tow a fiver that is not equipped with a capture plate. Superglide sells a capture plate that is custom made for most sizes of pin plates which attaches in about ten minutes with four allen screws.

Can you lock a Pullrite hitch?

We do not recommend locking the hitch in any way to keep it in the forward position.

Do you need a slider hitch?

How do I know if I need a sliding 5th wheel hitch? If the distance from your truck bed to your 5th wheel jaws is less than half the width of your trailer, you will need a sliding 5th wheel hitch. Without a slider, the nose of the trailer will obstruct the truck cab when making a turn.

What is a slider hitch for 5th wheel?

A sliding fifth wheel hitch is a fifth wheel hitch that sits on rails mounted in the truck bed. The hitch functions like a standard fifth wheel hitch but can slide on the rails. This increases the separation between the truck and the trailer.

What makes a 2900 superglide hitch so good?

The hitch head and the cam arm mechanism for the #2900 is built with heavier components out of high quality American steel. Those parts are well equipped to handle the increased torque of a heavier trailer as the SuperGlide safely and quickly moves your trailer away from your truck cab during turns!

How big does a superglide fifth wheel hitch get?

The 20K SuperGlide moves up to 14″ while making a turn – 50% farther than manually adjusted “slider” designs – and works AUTOMATICALLY, while you drive and make short turns. Not sure what mounting system you already have or need?

Where is the hitch head on a pullrite superglide?

The hitch head is fixed on the pin and the whole head spin on the hitch base. Normally the hitch and base are fixed and the hitch spins around the pin. The RV dealer uses the hitch head to solve any incompatibility with their towing vehicle for moving my RV in and out of the shop.

What does the superglide do on a truck?

The SuperGlide is specifically designed for short bed trucks to provide additional clearance between the truck’s cab and the leading edge of the trailer during turns.
