Rumpke observes the following holidays and does not pick up on New Year’s Day; Memorial Day; Independence Day; Labor Day; Thanksgiving Day; and Christmas Day. If the holiday falls on a weekday before your regular service day, collection will be delayed one day.

The Haul-it-Away team will collect the items directly from basements, garages or other storage locations and properly dispose of them through recycling, charitable donations or landfill disposal.

- Metal Cans: Aluminum cans, steel cans and lids, empty aerosol cans with the lids and tips removed.
Is the Rumpke going to be delayed for Thanksgiving?
Customers with service on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday will NOT be affected by Thanksgiving. Service will NOT occur on Thursday, Nov. 26, and service will be delayed one day for the rest of the week (e.g. Thursday will move to Friday, and Friday will move to Saturday). Rumpke will return to its regular collection schedule the following week.
Is there trash pick up on Thanksgiving Day?
Regular trash routes will resume on Monday for areas with Thursday collection days, according to a statement issued by Jefferson Parish. However, curbside recycling will be provided on Thanksgiving Day for areas that have collection on a Thursday, according to the news release.
